This project involves transforming a 20-year-old house into a contemporary home designed for the Gen Z lifestyle. Rather than focusing on surface upgrades, the design begins with a complete rethinking of layout and space planning to suit modern living habits and everyday comfort.
A 20-year-old house reimagined into a contemporary Gen Z home through new layout planning and an added 1.5 storey for expanded living.
The interior direction emphasizes simplicity and coziness, with clean lines, practical zoning, and a warm, lived-in atmosphere. Spaces are reconfigured to be more open, flexible, and connected—supporting work, rest, and social activities in a way that reflects how the new generation lives today.
To further enhance functionality, an additional 1.5 storey is introduced at the top of the house. This new level accommodates a water tank while creating extra space for entertainment and a small bedroom, expanding the home vertically without compromising the existing footprint.
The result is a thoughtfully upgraded home that respects the original structure while redefining it for contemporary living—functional, comfortable, and designed for the next generation.
